CGDC at the International Conference on Nuclear Disarmament in Kazakhstan

_
CGDC President Petar Stoyanov and Secretary General Stamen Stantchev attended the International Conference “From a nuclear test ban to a nuclear-weapons-free world” which took place on 27 – 29 August 2012 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The forum was a part of the United Nations’ initiative for the International Day against Nuclear Testing on August 29, 2012.

Kazakhstan is setting the global trends towards nuclear responsibility. Upon its Independence, 20 years ago, under the leadership of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the country renounced their nuclear weapons arsenal, the world’s fourth largest, and shut down the second largest nuclear weapons testing site in the world – Semipalantinsk. Kazakhstan’s extensive efforts have proven courage, vision, and commitment to foster a nuclear-safe world.
