CGDC Delegation at the KAZENERGY Forum in Astana

The Center for Global Dialogue and Cooperation – CGDC was an official partner of the KAZENERGY Association in organizing the VIII KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum “Future Energy – Eurasian Prospects”. The Forum is the flagship annual energy event in the region, welcoming more than 800 delegates from 30 countries.
The CGDC was represented by President Stoyanov, Stamen Stantchev, and CGDC International Board Members – General Wesley Clark and Mario David. On the first day of the Forum, Mario David reflected on the key trends, challenges, and prospects in shaping a new energy system, in a panel featuring also former Prime Minister of Spain – José María Aznar, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan – Serik Akhmetov, and India’s Minister of Renewable Energy – Dr. Farooq Abdullah. Day 2 was marked by welcome addresses from President Stoyanov and General Clark on ensuring sustainable energy future.
Along with the plenary sessions and discussion panels, the KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum hosted a wide variety of side events – rounds tables and topical workshops, as well as the KAZENERGY Youth Forum; thus presenting not only the views of recognized energy experts and governmental agencies, but also the different, more innovative perspective of the new generation of decision-makers.
