CGDC at the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting

President Petar Stoyanov and Secretary General Stamen Stantchev, who were in New York City on a working visit, participated in the Clinton Global Initiative (
CGI) Annual Meeting 2012, which took place on September 23-25, 2012.The
CGI Annual Meeting is an invitation-only event which brigs together heads of state, chief executives of companies, directors of major nonprofits, and other global leaders to work jointly towards solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.
For three days
CGI members shared insights and discussed ideas on innovative approaches to sustain prosperity and initiate a lasting change in the world. Among the participants were Barack Obama, Felipe Calderón, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, Ban Ki-moon, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Prof. Muhammad Yunus, Tony Blair, and many more global leaders, shaping today’s economics and politics.
CGDC President Petar Stoyanov and Secretary General Stamen Stantchev shared the vision and mission of the
CGDC and found many new opportunities for partnerships.
The 2012
CGI Annual Meeting closed with over 150 new Commitments to Action made by
CGI Members, at a total value more than $2 billion, and expected to impact nearly 22 million people. To date, members have made 2,300 commitments, among which is
CGDC’s Commitment “Education for Change – Scholarships for Students from the Western Balkans”. The project enabled students from the Balkans to participate in the
MBA program in Public Governance and Management at
MODUL University-Vienna.
