3rd ANNUAL MEETING: “EURASIAN INTERDEPENDENCE ON OVERCOMING THE CRISIS” (December 3-4, 2013)
Vienna, 3rd & 4th December 2013, the Center for Global Dialogue and Cooperation – CGDC will host international leaders from politics, business, academia and the charitable sector to discuss the challenges and possible solutions to Eurasia’s future on the global stage. The highlight of the CGDC’s 3rd Annual Meeting is the Q&A Session with President Bill CLINTON and Jose Manuel BARROSO, President of the European Commission, on these issues. The Center for Global Dialogue and Cooperation – CGDC is an independent non-governmental organisation which seeks to create dialogue between business and politics by promoting business globally and encouraging transparency and accountability with regards to legal, political and economic standards. More information on its founding vision and mission can be found at: www.cgdc.euOn Tuesday, 3rd December, the CGDC’s 3rd Annual Meeting will kick-off with a welcome reception at The Grand Hotel, Vienna. On Wednesday, 4th December, His Excellency Petar Stoyanov, President of the CGDC and President of Bulgaria 1997-2002 will officially open the CGDC Annual Meeting 2013. The first Session, “Eurasia’s Positioning on the Global Stage”, will be moderated by Dr. Walter SCHWIMMER, founder and VP of the CGDC and Secretary General of Council of Europe 1994-2004. Speakers to include Wesley K. CLARK, Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO 1997 – 2000 and Hemant KANORIA, Chairman and Managing Director of SREI India. The second Session, “Sustainable Energy for All”, will be moderated by Slavtcho Neykov, NIS Deputy CEO, Director of the Energy Community Secretariat 2006-2012. Speakers to include Mr. Suleiman Jasir AL-HERBISH, Director-General of OPEC Fund for International Development – OFID, Emmanuel LIMIDO, President WIRE World Institute for Renewable Energies and Chairman of Centuria Capital and Günter PYTEL, MCI Invest CEO and advisor to Chinese municipalities on energy issues.
The third Session, “Synergies to Master the Global Crisis”, will be moderated by Mario DAVID, MEP President of the Mashrek Delegation and CGDC International Board Member. Speakers include, Sukhbaatar BATBOLD, PM of Mongolia (2009 – 2012) and CGDC International Board Member, Kamran MOFID, Founder of Globalisation for the Common Good Initiative, and Dr. Ismail SERAGELDIN, Director of the Library of Alexandria, Vice-President of World Bank for Environmentally and Socially Sustainable Development (1993 – 1998). The 3rd CGDC Annual Meeting will close with the Annual CGDC Awards Ceremony where, President Bill CLINTON will present Jose Manuel BARROSO, President of the European Commission with the CGDC AWARD 2013 for “ENHANCING MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING AMONGST DIVERSE PEOPLE”. His Excellency, President Nursultan NAZARBAYEV, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan will receive the CGDC AWARD 2013 for “ENHANCING SOCIAL BUSINESS DIALOGUE”. Mr. Mikhail Safarbekovich Gutseriev, President of OAO KK RussNeft will be honoured with the CGDC AWARD 2013 for “ENHANCING INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE”. Mr. Felix BAUMGARTNER, world record holder for skydiving will be honoured with the CGDC AWARD 2013 for “ENHANCING SPORT IN DIALOGUE”.
