CGDC 3RD ANNUAL MEETING: 1ST SESSION DISCUSSION: EURASIA’S POSITION ON GLOBAL STAGE

Vienna, 4th December 2013, the Center for Global Dialogue and Cooperation – CGDC hosts international leaders from politics, business, academia and philanthropy to discuss the challenges and possible solutions to Eurasia’s future on the global stage.

After a welcome from H.E. Petar STOYANOV, CGDC President & Founder, President of Republic of Bulgaria 1997–2002 and H.E. Dr. Gjorge IVANOV, President of the Republic of Macedonia the first session, “Eurasia’s Positioning on the Global Stage”, was moderated by Dr. Walter SCHWIMMER, founder and VP of the CGDC and Secretary General of Council of Europe 1994-2004.

Speakers included Wesley K. CLARK, Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO 1997 – 2000 and Hemant KANORIA, Chairman and Managing Director of SREI India. Swee Lian WOO, President of Perfect China Co. and Rick YUNE, CGDC Honorary Board Member, actor and businessman.

In the Session, opinions were offered from different national and cultural perspectives – from India, South Korea, China, Europe and America. According to Session speaker, Hemant KANORIA, Chairman and Managing Director of SREI India, “The CGDC is unique in its ability to bring the most senior leaders together to challenge thinking and collaborate on topical issues in business and politics. The topic of Eurasia is extremely relevant as each continent is trying to reinvent itself and define its position on the global stage. In particular, I see a bright future for substantial collaboration in the sectors of finance and infrastructure between Europe and across all of Asia, not just with India.”
