Azerbaijan State Recognition Diploma Granted to CGDC
In the beginning of September, President Stoyanov participated in a High Level Preparatory Meeting, framing the debate for the “Shared Societies Forum 2014”, to be held next April in Baku. It was hosted by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center and Club de Madrid, with the support of the Azerbaijan State Committee for Diaspora and the Library of Alexandria.
The major goals of this meeting were a position paper on Post-2015 Development Agenda and a statement addressed to the United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon. President Stoyanov expressed his active position in a panel together with Ismail Serageldin – Director of the Library of Alexandria and former VP of the World Bank; Jorge Quiroga – former President of Bolivia and VP of the Club de Madrid; and Ivo Slaus – President of the World Academy of Art and Sciences.
A Partnership Agreement was signed between the Center for Global Dialogue and Cooperation – CGDC
and the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, aiming at promoting their collaboration, while nurturing an atmosphere of peace, understanding, and tolerance. Among the priority areas for joint programs are education, culture, science, environmental protection, human rights, and a particular focus on intercultural dialogue and action.
At a dinner, hosted by Minister Nazim Ibrahimov, the CGDC
President was granted the Honorary Diploma of the State Committee on Affairs of Diaspora. This recognition acknowledges his contribution to promoting the dialogue and cooperation between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan.
